Who I Am: From Råby to Sweden's Biggest Arenas

· The Artist

From a youth-centre studio in Råby to two sold-out arenas in Stockholm, here is the short version of my story.

Where do I come from?

I was born Antwan Afram on 1 January 1998 in Västerås, Sweden, and I grew up in Råby, a district of the city. A friend got me into music when I was fifteen, and the two of us recorded at a local youth centre.

How did Antwan become Ant Wan?

My first songs came out in 2016 under the name Råby, after my neighbourhood, and later as Antwan Råby. In 2018 I became Ant Wan and released the single "Sativa". A year later my EP Wow went to number one in Sweden.

Which releases should you know?

  • 724 (2020): my debut album, named after the first digits of the postcode back home.
  • Wow 2 (2021): a number one album with songs like "Wenak", "Heartbreaker" and "5AM".
  • The Only Wan (2022): another number one album, which held the top spot for weeks.
  • Wanderland (2024): twelve tracks, from "Guten Tag" to "Fatti", and another number one, with the single "Lover".

What about the live shows?

On 30 September 2023 I played my first arena show, at a sold-out Avicii Arena in Stockholm, the first time a Swedish hip-hop artist had sold it out on his own. On 12 October 2024 I went bigger, headlining a sold-out Tele2 Arena. In early 2024 I won Artist of the Year and best live act at P3 Guld, and in May 2025 I announced I was stepping away from music.
